Can't Do Everything.

I see a lot of pictures in a lot of places. They are in a lot of genres and classes but I take note of most, if not all, of them through the lens of my own work. I am not always sure what I am looking at but I often find myself being charmed by small and quaint works in water color. My time spent using water color is minimal despite the supplies I have for such things. Additionally, I am not spending the time working on perfecting/subverting my style. Where am I going with this? The pics below are from a sketch book I started for just these reasons.

If you read this blog at all I am sure you have noted my frequent talk of things I am NOT doing. To this end I suppose I must allow myself the inability to do everything all the time. This does not mean I shouldn't do more and better. However, as they say in Biology, you cannot be the fastest runner and the fastest swimmer. These two thing involve specialization that pre-assumes the other. That is what I am calling today's post. r.
PS
Upon proofreading this I find myself looking at the pictures I posted. I am starting to think that I am not really looking at the pics before I start writing. I say this because I am think what I should be talking about is the picture itself, or the critique of said picture. My first thought being that the picture does not capture the sense of girth that I would like it too. That idea would lead to the idea of doing pictures again, or over. If one is to learn something from a picture then one should put that to use, or see if that "correction" can be put into play.
