I had also started this series. This was a low chroma set done by "zooming"in on a b&w photo. I think the best example is the second from the bottom, the wheel close up. This too is my favorite of the group.

There is a lot to say about this work. One, it started as a ball point pen sketch or two and I felt the painting never caught what I found by doing the sketches. This occurs often. Another thing was there was the idea to do a whole series built from one picture. The different croppings and sizes all from the same scene is doubtful original but still may have been interesting to look at.

Additionally I was told early when doing black and white paintings it works better to make grey tones from different colors. This I found worked well but it may be interesting to try it in the black and white only manner as well as the mixed colors and compare what comes out. Certainly there is a strength to strict black and white pictures.

i could also spend some times talking about cityscapes. Cars by themselves are generally only interesting to me from the stand point of painting them, these of course show up here. I could go on.
