various and sundry thoughts:
Though there is no way for you to tell, I sometimes write posts but do not post them. There are various reasons for this. mainly it is that I am unhappy with the post. This happened last week for that reason. I was not just unpleased with the post but the corresponding pictures of my work (both the subject matter and the quality of the pic) as well.
I am not willing to scrutinize the act but I have noticed this sort of yo-yoing before. Is it all subjective? I cannot say but today I like the pictures I have to show. I have the three paintings from the "taxi" series pictured above. Though they are not "done" I will be starting a fourth to help build the series.
On an all together different vein, I am getting a strange sense of my brushwork. It seems I have the habit of trying to subdue the brush work, the strokes that is. Let me clarify that I am not saying I succeed in this just that it seems to be an inclination. This is not something I fully understand. I certainly like painterly works with overt brush strokes. I also find myself liking the rougher underwork of paintings I do and wonder how to reclaim those initial impressions. So why do I seemingly desire to get some seamless style out of my work? Any guesses?

I wish I knew ... struggle with much the same ... some overwhelming need to smooth out or erase the sign of the creator's hand while I so appreciate the ability to loosen up in others.
