As Mentioned

these first two pics show the proportional subject size issues I mentioned. Otherwise.... I darkened the background on this one last night (thank you indigo). I was on the fence but decided to go for it. Maybe I ned to embrace the more paint ideology and stop quibbling. What is the worst that could happen?
Over all I am having issues with this painting. I feel the squid doesn't fit all all and the background is ass. The wrong or too much negative space perhaps. I will apply the "more paint" concept mentioned above and report back.

I keep messing with this one. Adding things, changing tones etc. I feel like I made better choices here. Hmmmmmmm?

I have been fighting with this one for a while. my issue(s) may be a simple as not getting the upper right hand corner figure"s hat fully in frame. Of course it could be many other things in addition or instead. The battle continues.

you may be thinking a bit too much ... composition on the squid one works well enough.
The extreme perspective on the bottom painting both make it interesting and difficult. It starts to be about texture to me more than anything else (which I like.)
It is the figure on the left that seems odd to me.
