The next step
Of the two pics posted here the drawing is the one that refers back to an earlier post . The photo of the "battle" is one of the many epic confrontations that happen here in Seattle/Ballard. It something that is fun but not something I feel I should put time and energy doing. I perhaps have it all backwards but I don't think that would be a surprise to anyone.
How do I draw a line between the insect drawing an the aforementioned post? It is another example of a picture that did not hit the intended mark. Though it is technically finished it does not have the right character for my taste. This is of course the topic of the older post. It, the post, spoke of the constant reworking of paintings and the Gowanus Carrol street bridge was a painting that took the lead in that charge. I could never capture what I wanted to say/depict with the painting. The wasp drawing was supposed to be a rougher (but informative) style that was to lean on the idea of contrast (black and white or yellow and white) for its main language.
I hope i can at least say that I slowly work towards the end of the ideas/explorations. It is possible that this lack of follow through is not just a weak point but proverbally abhorred vacuum. Not that you need me to tell you this.
to sign off I will quote the Love & Rockets I just read,
May god and science be with you

Copy it and keep reworking it, but not on the original .... or draw it 100 times and see what happens. It would be worth the experiment.
I suppose the epic battle is more my thing than yours ... I can envision some scenarios however, involving the constructions of something with flowers and other things in the yard ... hmmmmmm
actually, the epic battle was a reference to what was happening when I was taking the picture(s). There was a whole E. thing going on inside a that time.
So, epic battles are in fact your thing whether you want it to be or not.
Ahh, I see ... how easily I forget.
