I have been reading the Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and have been envious of the (fictional) productivity of the comic artist Joe Kavalier. I have been feeling the desire to produce more art work. I have a somewhat reasonable reason why i am slacking right now but really everything is just an excuse. I have come up with a little drawing a day project. Hopefully a day. I have made two pools of (ideally) random words. One a descriptive and the other the subject or noun. The idea is to pull one of each and come up with a theme to work with . Part of this is to inspire/force me to break the habit of using visual aids to copy from when I draw. This will theoretically be done all from my tired old brain and not from photos or models.
The test run gave us "Grey Fruit." I can see possibilities for that. Perhaps the real trick will be to stick to what i pull and not fish. Tomorrow I draw something.
