Today

I have been managing to squeeze in work a few times a week. so in a sense I have been productive. Though in truth much of it is rehashing already extant work or just getting a foothold on a piece already started. This for example is a painting that has had me working and reworking the two figures to get them in line. This is an example of why you do a solid sketch at first and paint only when it is sound and not just jump in. The line of pictures in the back of the painting were things I found and wanted to look at again. They actually have text that goes along with them. The small picture on the left is just something to warm up/practice with. This one, above, is a painting I have already done. Deja Vu all over again as they say. I wonder if the bike should take up more of the painting or the space it is in is important to the feel of it. I am in no hurry and keep working on this one bit by bit. I still think it is a reasonable piece of work. This is the latest incarnation as of a few hours ago. I am enjoying the building of layers and hopefully layers. I aspire to a rich quality of painting that does not come with few and thin layers of paint. This last one is part of a series idea. I believe it is mention in the previous or recent posts. It is just a sketch and seemingly one of many ideas I have if I look back at it.
