As I am sure you know there are many different styles of painting out there that are tried and true as well as making for good paintings in the right hands. I have tried copying other people's works with degrees of success. I have copied some Diego Rivera, enjoying and better understanding his celebration of form because of it. I have started a painting, two actually, that are attempts to embrace the emphasis of shape and contour. It is not the one pictured here. It is an effort to move away from my habits and work the brush in unfamiliar ways. I will let you in on the results when I have some.
