just some work (neither are finished)

I have not been using my time wisely. I could argue that I have been distracted by the things around me. I do have a couple of things to mention, that is to sy pics to post and my subsequent commentary. I did work on a painting. Just in a little way. Its funny. I always seems to work on paintings largely in little bits. I seldom seem do sit down and do any "meaty" painting. It is something I (would) like to do but I always seem to it any other way. Arguably this is largely a size issue. The size of the canvas that is. This might have to do with using oils but i doubt it. I went to SAM last week and was looking at works I enjoyed. Mainly I went for the Andrew Wyeth exhibit. I have been a long time fan of his. I feel like e has some how added pale winter sunlight to his palette. Moonlight and winter sun, 'sigh". However I kept returning to an Eric Fischl painting. I was mesmerized by a plastic soda bottle in the painting.
All these things bring me to the idea of doing some still lifes. This will happen when it happens.
ciao

still lives with stuff you collect about your space would be interesting ... In a sense I guess I am considering the same type of thing with photography of stuff in my own space. Somehow it seems more legit for you since you will spend the time to draw or paint it. Photography feels like a cop out sometimes.
Good to see you working.

I dont' think anyone really thinks it is a cop out. Though there was that time when photography first came on the scene and some people thought it would be the end of painting. Why have a painting of a bowl of fruit when you can a photograph.
Are you going to try the photo proj. we talked about after we saw Corwin Hewitt?

We should talk more about what that project might be ... or maybe I just need to think about what that project might be ... It seems like there should be some kind of parameters ...
